Only 2½ hours from Sydney, Black Gold Cabins is the ideal base to explore Lithgow, the Central West and the Blue Mountains of NSW.

Directions to Black Gold Country Cabins

From Sydney, 2.5 hours

  • Make your way to Lithgow via the Great Western Highway or Bells Line of Road
  • Go through Lithgow towards Bathurst and past the Correctional Centre in Marrangaroo
  • Take the Mudgee Road turn off to the left and travel over the overpass
  • Follow the Mudgee Road, and turn left at the United Petrol Station, just past Wallerawang Power Station.
  • Follow Main Street for 800 metres, Black Gold Country Cabins are on your left.

Directions from Bathurst, 35 minutes

  • Travel east towards Lithgow on the Great Western Highway
  • Turn left to Wallerawang at the large intersection near Lake Wallace (Wang Dam)
    *note: Do not take the first sign-posted turn off to Wallerawang, take the one at the bottom of the hill when you can see the dam on your left
  • Travel straight, past the new school on the left and into the township of Wallerawang
  • Follow the road to the right across the railway bridge, and then immediately turn right again into Main Street. You will be able to see shops on the left hand side of the street.
  • Travel past the railway station for 500 meters. Black Gold Country Cabins are on your right

Directions from Mudgee, 1 hour & 20 minutes

  • Follow the Castlereagh Highway towards Lithgow past Mt Piper Power Station.
  • At the Wallerawang Power Station (on the right) and the United Petrol station (on the left), turn right and follow Main Street towards the township of Wallerawang for 800 metres. Black Gold Country Cabins are on your left.
